We've finished the race! We crossed the line at about 6ish this evening. Tenerife is beautiful. We decided not to go straight into Sta Cruz. Instead we turned east over to Gran Canaria. Epic crossing it took 3 hours with high winds (25+ knots) awesome sailing weather. i sat up on the boom! What an experience it truly was beautiful and I think I was sat in the only dry patch on the boat :) There was plenty of sun and waves and pods and pods of dolphins! They loved playing at the stern of the boat because of the wake we were creating 9.5 knots. James didnt enjoy the crossing, go a tad damp and so decided to reture to bed... no surprise there! Fiona made us a delicious chorizo pasta for dinner.
Then we arrived in Porta de las Nieves at... 9 maybe_ Looking back to Tenerife at dusk was beautiful. We moored iup, and then got changed. I slapped on some mascara for the first time since we left Vigo. Then we rocked up to the local, which we later discovered was a gay bar. We then (after a pint) went to the hamboergueseria ... bascially a spanish kebab shop. I dont think I'll ever have a hamburguesa especial ever again. mistake doesn't even begin to cover it. Hopefully I won't have food poisoning tomorrow.
Then back to the pub. People started to wander off after 12 I left we Sara at 0130. The rest of the guys (Fiona, Ad, Ian, Barry and Wes) heaven knows what they're up to and when they'll be back. Anyway its 2 now and I'm really looking forward to sleeping in a bed that isnt at 30 degrees. So I shall write again en la mañana
Ciao for now!
